"We left Bora-Bora 2 hours ago and are en route to the Cook Islands, 540 miles ahead. Bora-Bora is truly exquisite and deserves all the hyperbole: it's a shame we couldn't have spent a month there, but the Amery men have a deadline of the 20th June in Raratonga. We dropped Rhian & Jo in Bora-Bora, and they go to Papeete tomorrow to catch their flight home
"We've acquired a stowaway - a lovely little gecko; we think he keeps the roaches down. We felt we should have left him in Tahiti, as he has no papers, and the immigration officials can be sticky in the Cook Islands. Sadly we couldn't catch him, so he's coming along for the ride.
"We've caught up with our old friends on Friars Goose, who will be leaving in a couple of hours, so we should have some company. We've also joined the Pacific radio net, which consists of about 10 boats all going in more or less the same direction, and it's good to have the communication."
