We left Papeete at midday today, and had a lovely sail to Vaiare on the west coast of Moorea, where we spent the night. Had dinner at the Kia Ora Hotel, and the folks saw their first Polynesian dancing - the bottom-wobbling is certainly impressive, and we suspect Tony's steatopygnia may well give him special aptitude - a show expected soon.

This morning we sailed to Oponohu Bay on the north coast in ideal conditions and are now anchored in 5 metres of the most unbelievable clear turquoise water just inside the reef. This must be one of the world's most beautiful places. We'll be here for 24 hours, and will set off for Huahine, an island about 80 miles northwest, tomorrow evening.
