2849/3259 Today we've seen that the Red Sea does have a benign side. After a rather blustery night, dawn saw the wind drop and the seas flatten, and this evening the sea is mirror smooth, with jagged mountains bordering each side of the now somewhat narrow gulf, and the night sky lit up by enormous flames from the numerous oil rigs that dot the gulf. Only 70 miles to Suez and the end of the Red Sea - we can hardly believe it. There'll be a few beers in the Suez Canal Yacht Club tomorrow night. Home | Top | < previous | next > |
